So why would you want to choose me as your therapist?
Ok .... here goes ... I am an open, honest, warm and approachable female therapist, working full time in private practice in Northampton.
I work face-to-face with men, women, adolescents, teenagers and children,
dealing with a wide range of problems, issues, habits, worries or concerns.
I am extremely competent and very experienced, and have literally
hundreds and hundreds of working client hours behind me.
I always work in a very ethical and congruent way at all times. I really listen to what you have to say, and offer a safe, non-judgmental and professional environment to allow you to be simply you.
I am highly qualified and professionally trained in all the disciplines that I practice in. I am constantly attending on-going training, seminars and CPD (Continual Professional Development) events, reading books, papers and publications to ensure that I am always up to date with the working world I practice in. This ensures that I give all my clients the very best therapy I can give, based on the old, tried and tested and the new modern ideas and techniques that are coming out.
My personal ethos is to use an integrated approach to my therapy. This enables me to use the best tools for the job, at the right time, and in the right way, in order to get the quickest and most beneficial results for all my clients at all times.

Areas of specialism and personal interest
I have a special interest in working with clients to overcome their negative thoughts, feelings and emotions in a beneficial way, for one of confidence, positivity,
balance and of change.
One of my main areas of specialism is working with emotional eating and working with people around weight and body / confidence issues. I know from personal experience how emotional eating can affect your life, and I am currently on my own personal weight loss journey ... albeit a very long one!
I was the first licensed Gastric Hypno-Band Practitioner throughout Northamptonshire, and i have had great success with this programme.

I also enjoy working with children, teenagers and adolescents,
and I am one of the few hypnotherapists who offer this service.
I also enjoy and specialise in psycho - sexual problems and difficulties, such as HOCD, erection difficulties, premature ejaculation, performance anxiety
and fetishes just to name a few.
I also specialise in Advanced Smoking Cessation, and I have had a very, very good success rate. I used to smoke myself, so I know all the lies, excuses and reasons behind smoking. I always used to say I was great at giving up smoking, not so good at the actual stopping part! I have now stopped for 9 years, and I am still a non-smoker!
Personal advancement
I am currently studying for a Diploma in Image Consultancy. This will enable me to help people with image, communication and behaviour to instill more self confidence, self concept and belief in themselves.
I am going to do the (Tranasctional Analysis) Psychotherapy
TA 101 Certificate in November 2011.
My own personal journey through therapy
I have personally experienced firsthand, both counselling and hypnotherapy as a client, on a particularly personal subject of emotional eating. I know how difficult it is to talk about your problems, thinking that the therapist is going to think you are either stupid, wasting their time and that you should be able to sort it out.
But a good therapist is there to help you in a positive and beneficial way, to help you change your perspective in order to move on in your life. And believe me; once you start your journey, there is no going back.
From my own personal experience, I always try to offer warmth, compassion and a sense of humour when helping all my clients on sometimes a very difficult journey of change, and this is reflected in the amount of referrals and recommendations I receive from previous satisfied clients and other outside agencies e.g. G.P's etc.
